We have discussed this controversy lately, partly because I’ve advocated the use of Comment Hut in past posts. It made one guy pretty mad, and it made me laugh actually because it’s nothing to blow one’s stack over.
So I thought I’d share an example of actual spam. Here is the latest comment I received:
Tom Paine | tompaine5454@yahoo.com | xxxxxxxxxx | IP: 69.10.139.105
Hi,
This is a good post. It gives me the information I was in search of.
I have a small query - I don’t have any spam pages or websites. Still I am encountered with messages like “possible spam”, “Spam”, and so.
Do you have any idea why it’s such?
Thanks.
I thought it was interesting that Tom Paine wrote a comment, only to be followed no more than five minutes later with this comment from this guy….

I thought, “Weird. These dudes must know each other or maybe they read the same comic books or something, because they talk the same.” So THEN I got another comment less than an hour after THAT one….
Richard Andrews | richardndrws@yahoo.com | xxxxxxxx/blog | IP: 69.41.168.44
Hi,
This is a good post. This is the stuff I was actually looking for.
I have a question though – Frequent number of times I have got a warning as “spam” when I try bookmarking on sites like dig.com or muti.com.
I don’t have any spam pages or websites.
Any idea why do I meet with all these?
Thanks.
So I was perplexed and bamboozled to be quite frank until it dawned on me that THIS is what spam really looks like. Not some person asking a question about a post or making an insightful point. Yeah. So next time someone tells you using Comment Hut or posting comments so you can get some awareness about your blog is EVIL or blackhat or whatever, as long as your comments are valid and not junk like these comments above, don’t sweat it.

Fact Fact Time,
Theory 1:
Tom Paine posted and Richard Andrews saw the comment and thought he would ask it too?
Theory 2:
Tom Paine and Richard Andrews are the alter ego’s of the same blogger trying to comment spam?
Theory 3:
Tom Paine’s blog directly redirects to a viagra landing page?
Theory 4:
Tom Paine is trying to increase his backlinks count so he hires a cheap guy from Bhubhaneshwar, India to write comments for him? :winks:
WOW that is hilarious
Good catch (y)
Were the posts followed each other without any comments in between?
Ha! I’ve seen those same comments out there on other blogs, but never back to back to back like that. Funny comment by Ashwin above that it is some dude in India. Thanks for pointing out the differences.
SPAM sucks, but it’s obvious that comments for backlinks is not exactly SPAM- more like Networking Comments. ‘Cause if u ever go to a business/networking meeting, all anyone is trying to do is meet people and hand out business cards and the like.
LOL even as spammers they sucks BIG time! LOL
Jew, what do you know about these people?
You have no right to talk here..
